I remember the first time I saw that white light
Flashing in the sky sublime and burning my eyes I thought I’d die
Behind the glow it came slowly gliding
A vessel so divine then I was inside and I could see
I was living my life in the dark cave happy
Neck and body tied
Watching the shadows upon the wall
The shapes were all that I could imagine
How could I discern the truth from the delusion?
She took me up in her sphere past the clouds and atmosphere
Past space and time touch and feel past what’s true and what’s real
She didn’t speak but I could hear
She didn’t touch but I could feel
She didn’t show but I saw
Then dropped me where I used to be
I was living the life with the lights out happy
Then I finally saw and cried
At the beauty of this new life
I would never have believed it myself
So the others in the cave they thought I was crazy and blind
Now I walk in the light above caves and shadows
Gaze into the sky for a sign of her sphere was it ever here?

I come home I come home I stream and I stream
In the night by my side it never sleeps

Hunter-Gatherer
04:14
|

I was on my second third-life crisis
Checked in with QR code
In golden handcuffs I yelled carpe diem
Then scrolled for guidance on my phone
Tried to fake it with mid-century basic
Hipsters and yuppies they merged
What I wouldn’t give
To feel truly free
Everything except everything
I don’t wanna die but I’d kill just to cry
Remind me I’m alive
Switch me back as a hunter gatherer
At least it’s social
Five years sitting in the circle of shame
Talking about how bad I am
These days the medicine’s changed
Just don’t tell Bill and Dr. Bob
I don’t wanna die but I’d kill just to cry
Remind me I’m alive
Switch me back as a hunter gatherer
At least it’s social
I’m contemplating my great resignation
Seems to be going around
There’s a daydream way over the hill
The dam will break and let out the tears

Sacks of water think they’re smarter
Than all the other sacks around
Roam about check me out I’m a shapely sack
Sad sack supreme
Sounds like a dream
Golden age or end of days
Slow burn fade eternal spring
Made up truth make believe ideology reality
My invented life varies from the one you like
Sacks of water think they’re smarter than all the other ones
